Mental Health Awareness Week
Year 1 took time out during Mental Health Awareness Week, to focus on our Mental Health and understand some feelings that we might have. Year 1 then enjoyed a special Friday with activities designed to promote feeling happy and keeping our minds happy and healthy.
๐Children enjoyed Poppin’ Pilates- they always look forward to these very active and engaging sessions.
๐Children brought in a special treat snack to enjoy. We had been talking about a ‘balance’ and how it is ok to enjoy all the yummy snacks as a treat. ( The weather unfortunately kept us indoors for this)
๐We then enjoyed some extended story time in the library ๐
๐Finally the children had identified playing with their special toys as what makes them happy. The children brought in one toy from home and enjoyed playing with these during a special golden time session.
๐All children will experience a variety of emotions at some stage. It is important that they understand all feelings are ‘ok’ and are given strategies to cope with what is happing in their daily lives ๐ The children had a really fun day that took on board all their ideas from ongoing discussions throughout the week. It was lovely to see so many smiles ๐๐๐โบ๏ธ
