Celebrating International Women’s Day at Omagh Integrated Primary School & Nursery
12th Mar 2026
Although International Women’s Day fell on Sunday 8th March, our pupils spent this week celebrating and learning about the incredible women who inspire them.
Each child from Year 1-7 was given the opportunity to research an inspirational woman in their life, or someone who has made a difference in the world. It was wonderful to hear about so many important women — including mummies, grandmothers, aunts, godmothers, sisters, cousins and family friends, alongside well-known inspirational figures featured in the video above.
Pupils also visited our graffiti wall where they added the name of the woman who inspires them. The result is a beautiful collaborative display at the front of our school, celebrating the many women who shape, support and inspire our young people every day.
A huge thank you to all of the amazing women in our community who inspire our pupils to be confident, kind and courageous every day.
