Celebrating Children's Mental Health Week in Year 4
This week, our Year 4 classes took a journey into the world of emotions as part of Children’s Mental Health Week, with the theme “Know Yourself, Grow Yourself.”
The children engaged in thoughtful discussions about what makes each of us unique, recognising how emotions influence our actions and relationships. They worked together to identify different feelings and how these can change depending on situations we experience.
As part of their homework challenge, pupils let their imaginations run wild by designing their own Inside Out characters, each representing a brand-new emotion. We were blown away by the originality of their ideas, from Curiosity Cat to Brave Badger, and their thoughtful explanations of how these emotions help us grow.
To celebrate their hard work and to recognise ways we know ourselves better, both Year 4 classes joined forces on Friday for a fun-filled cinema experience! We transformed our learning space into a movie theatre, complete with a screening of Shrek, and delicious popcorn and juice.
