Celebrating Mrs Murphy 🌺
On Thursday, we gathered together for a very special assembly to celebrate the retirement of Mrs Murphy, our much-loved classroom assistant.
Mrs Murphy has been the heart and soul of our school for many years, and the love and appreciation shown throughout the assembly reflected the enormous impact she has had on pupils, staff and families alike.
Our Junior Choir performed a wonderful rendition of Isn’t she lovely, she’s Mrs Murphy, while our Year 7 pupils sang Time of Our Lives. Staff also took to the stage with a special version of Take It Easy by the Eagles, with rewritten lyrics highlighting some of Mrs Murphy’s memorable moments and the countless ways she has brightened school life.
We laughed as we reminisced about water pistols, broccoli, stolen chips, Pirate Day adventures, her love of coffee, her glitter-filled creations, and so many other cherished memories that have become part of our school’s story.
Each class presented Mrs Murphy with a handmade card, filled with messages of thanks, appreciation and best wishes for the future.
Mrs Murphy will be greatly missed by everyone in our school community. Thursday’s assembly was a fitting tribute to a truly special person who has touched the lives of so many.
We wish Mrs Murphy a long, happy and well-deserved retirement.
