Last week in Nursery we were learning about Chinese New Year. Children were involved in a range of activities associated with China including building the Great Wall of China using construction blocks, learning about the zodiac story and the great race with the animals and role playing in the home area as the Chinese restaurant. We made Chinese lanterns and hats at the creative areas.
We also learnt a song called Hung hay fat Choy (happy new year) and the children enjoyed learning phrases from another language.
We we ended our week with a Chinese day on Friday wearing our homemade hats and sampling a range of Chinese food using chopsticks! We had great fun!!
