In Year 3, our World Around Us topic is 'Weather.' The children have been learning all about the different seasons, and the weather that goes with them. Today, our student teacher Miss McCutcheon did a science lesson with the boys and girls to investigate 'ice' and its different properties. They learnt all about how quick ice melts with heat using different resources such as hairdryers, hot water and salt. The children had a great time using their senses to even hear the salt 'crackling' as it melted. They then used food colouring to see how the process of melting affected the ice.
