Primary Six pupils were thrilled to receive a personal reply from Louis Sachar, the author of Holes. After enjoying Holes as their Term 2 novel, the class decided to write to the author with questions about what inspired him and what his writing process looks like.
Today, much to their excitement, a response arrived. Louis shared that it took him two years to write Holes and that he completed at least six drafts along the way. He also revealed that he usually writes for between 45 minutes and two hours each day.
A wonderful surprise for Primary Six and a brilliant insight into the life of a real author.
