In our Year 2 topic of Toys, children explore learning through hands on experiences that feel joyful and purposeful. They paint and design their own favourite toy and imaginative toys, build models using junk art and construction toys and take on real life roles in our OIPS toy shop! Through playful buying and selling, they practise early money skills such as recognising coins, counting out amounts and making simple exchanges. This blend of creativity, problem solving and role play helps children develop confidence, language and team work while deepening their understanding of how toys are made, used and valued in everyday life.
